Troye is originally from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada. She is a graduate of the Nova Scotia Agricultural College, and the Ontario Agricultural and Ontario Veterinary Colleges, University of Guelph.
She is a Past President of the Nova Scotia Veterinary Medical Association and the immediate Past President of the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA). She has served on the AHTVTPAC accreditation committee for the CVMA, the Animal Welfare Committee and the RVTTC board on behalf of the CVMA. Her three year term as the representative of the CVMA to the Federation of Veterinarians of Europe (FVE) recently ended in June 2018. She currently serves on the Wellness Task Force for the CVMA.
Troye has worked for the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, has practiced large animal medicine in Saskatchewan, Canada, and has taught registered veterinary technicians and agriculture students at Lakeland College, Vermilion, Alberta, Canada. She currently works at Central Nova Animal Hospital in Truro, Nova Scotia as a small animal practitioner with a strong interest in internal medicine and ultrasound.
In her spare time you will find Troye at the farm with her husband and 5 Border Collies. Biking, hiking or doing agility or rally obedience with the dogs. She currently has 3 cats at home as well.
