Dr. Shih Ming, Johnson Chiang graduated from National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan in 1988. He obtained his MS, DVM from the College of Veterinary Medicine and the other MS from the College of Management at the same school.
He served his mother school as a veterinarian in the teaching veterinary hospital for 4 years and ran his own hospital (Johnson Veterinary Hospital) since 1993. He is an internal medicine expert, especially in renal disease. Furthermore, he devoted himself in animal protection and veterinary public affairs. He was a committee of animal protection of Taipei City, a committee of animal welfare of Council of Agriculture, Taiwan. He sponsored himself to be trained for the shelter care by the HSUS (The Humane Society of the United States) in Honolulu in 1998.
Particularly, Johnson Chiang has a natural ability in leadership. He was the former President of Taipei Veterinary Association, 2000-2002 and the Taiwan Veterinary Association, 2002- 2008. He is active in international affairs and used to be the treasurer, auditor and vice president of the Federation of the Asian Veterinary Associations (FAVA). He was also the former President of FAVA, 2011-2014 and the Vice President of the World Veterinary Association (WVA), 2012-2014. From 2014-2017 he was the President Elect of WVA. In January, 2013, Dr. Chiang organized a successful and popular FAVA congress in Taipei. For contributing in veterinary education, he was the President of the Veterinary Alumni Educational Foundation of National Taiwan University from 2010-2015.
Dr. Johnson Chiang is friendly, hospitable, optimistic and positive. He was awarded an Excellent Veterinarian Award issued by the Taiwan Veterinary Medical Association in 2010. And in 2012 and 2014 Taiwan Foreign Affairs awarded Dr. Johnson Chiang a Public Diplomatic Achievement Award for his contribution in the international affairs. Currently, Dr. Johnson CHIANG is also actively involved in two biotech companies developing new medicine for animals.
